Exercise 8 : First Jury

In this exercise, we were expected to synthesize the previously experienced concepts and create a 3D design that defines voids that are in an orderly relationship with each other. In the beginning i decided to use 3 different shapes which are 45° triangle, square and rectangle.I had 3 different units; B,C,D and Group A is formed by these 3 units come together in an order. Also i had 93 elements in total. I chose hierarchy as my principle and i tried to maintain this hierarchical order in A groups with the help of scale change. The group A in the middle is 1,5 times bigger than the surrounding groups and units.
I took out one rectangle from B and one square from C thus they had new personalities ( B' ,C' ). Also new combinations and connections have been made possible in this way. Regarding the use of color, i used white,3 shades of grey and black in one group in order to create a color transition. When we look at the whole design, I have placed the groups so that this color transition can be seen from the light to the dark.13 Kasım 2016 Pazar
Exercise 7b : Polyrhythm
Polyrhythm is the simultaneous occurrence of sharply contrasting rhythms within a composition. In this exercise we were required to make a composition representing a polyrhythm using wooden sticks on a black cardboard. I used two different rhythms ; in one of them woodsticks are 3 cm, they have 30° angles and wave-shape.I used this rhythm two times in my composition on two opposite sides. In the other one woodsticks are 6 cm, they have 90° and 60° angles.

Exercise 7a : Rhythm
The photographer shot a portrait
of dancer with a slow shutter speed in order to capture her movements.
In my opinion, this
photo is able to convey the movement of the
dancer and rhythm in a creative way.Rhythm
is achieved through the repetition of components. Elements like her arms, hands,
head and front leg are repeated to create a flowing effect and also it guides
us to follow the continuity.
